The Israelites made the golden calf. They made sacrifices to it and worshiped it. All because Moses was on the mountain for so long and the people did not what had become of him. These acts made God so angry that He told Moses that He would consume them. But Moses implored the Lord His God and asked Him to change His mind.

Jesus, help us to own that core identity more and more in this season of repentance and mercy. May this season be a grace-filled time to rekindle our love for and faith in you.

Lent begins today. However you choose to practice it, we hope you’ll spend the next 40 days creating space in your soul to reflect on Jesus’ sacrificial suffering and the power of His resurrection. Blog.Youversion.Com
