Today has been one of those days. Most of you who know me understand that I am less than patient. I try, but get easily frustrated when I have to wait. Well, today was one of those days. I had to wait on folks to come by the church, I also waited at the pharmacy and that was just part of it. While I waited, for what seemed like a long time, I thought about how patient and long suffering our faithful Father in heaven is with his children. He created our world and all that’s in it for us and we rarely appreciate the magnitude of it all. Today, I pray that we will recognize our Father’s faithfulness and thank Him as we celebrate our blessings this Thanksgiving.
When you receive this newsletter we will be rushing headlong into the Christmas season. We will have concluded our final evening meal for Compassion Outreach in 2019. Thank you Larry for managing this one.
Covenant Daily Bread continues assisting needy families. The increase in folks needing help with food also continues. The Food pantry is open the third Monday of each month from the hours of 9:00 til 11:00 am. Covenant volunteers work from 8:30 til 11:30.
We assisted 6 needy families with Thanksgiving baskets this year. Thank you Denna Gordon for helping with the shopping and distribution.
Our Thanksgiving Dinner and Item auction was a success once again. Thanks to everyone who helped with the dinner, the auction and the clean up. CPWM continued helping in the church family by sending money to the Children’s home, the Lakota reservation in South Dakota and providing funds for the Hot Lunch Program in South America. We also will be providing funds for Church camp for our youth in summer 2020.
We continue with our collection of Dicus receipts and boxtops. The receipts were delivered to St. Lukes this week.
